The Danger of Drift

May 17, 2026    Pastor Albert Cross

This powerful message takes us deep into the heart of David's greatest failure to reveal a truth we all need to hear: sin will take us further than we want to go, keep us longer than we want to stay, and cost us more than we ever want to pay. But the real danger isn't the sin itself—it's refusing to see it the way God does. Through the tragic account in 2 Samuel 11, we witness how King David, a man after God's own heart, allowed spiritual drift to lead him from a lingering glance to adultery, deception, and ultimately murder. The message doesn't leave us in despair, though. We're reminded that confession isn't just admitting wrongdoing—it's seeing and saying the same thing God says about our sin. When we walk in the light, we can acknowledge our imperfections without losing our position in God's family.
