Can I Know for Sure That  I'm Going to Heaven?

Many sincere people hope they are going to Heaven—
but hope and certainty are not the same thing.
The Bible does not leave this question unanswered.

And it invites us to know, not merely to hope.

Why Do People Think They’re Going to Heaven?

Here are answers people often give when asked why they believe they are
going to Heaven:

  • I keep the Ten Commandments
  • I’m sorry and confess my sins
  • I sincerely try my best
  • I stop sinning
  • I do good deeds
  • I give money to church
  • I water baptism communion
  • I don’t believe in Heaven / Hell
  • I trust in Christ and serve Him
  • I trust in Christ as my only hope

Many of these answers sound sincere—and many are common—
but sincerity alone does not determine truth.

What Does the Bible Say?

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."   John 3:16
The Bible gives only one way to Heaven.

The only way is to believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross, paid for all your sins, and rose again to give you eternal life.

“Truly, truly, I say to you, He who believes has everlasting life.”
John 6:47

What Should I Do?

Doesn’t it make sense to trust the only One who came back from the dead and can offer you eternal life?

Right now, the Lord asks only one thing: believe that He paid for your sins and that you trust Him alone to take you to Heaven when you die.

“These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life.”

1 John 5:13

Christ died for me.
That’s history.

Christ died for me.
That’s salvation.

What That Promise Means for You

“God will never cast out one who comes to Him.”
John 6:37

“In this is the Father’s will which has sent Me, that of all which He has given Me I should lose nothing.”
John 6:39

If you trust Christ alone, your eternal life is secure—not because of your
 faithfulness, but because of His.
